Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God. God in the flesh. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation. He is first in everything.
Through Him God created everything in heaven and on earth. He made the things we can see and things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through Jesus and for Him. He holds all creation together.
God in all his fullness was pleased to dwell in Jesus and through Jesus, reconcile all people—everything—back to Himself. Jesus made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of His blood shed on the cross.
This includes all people. We were once far away from God—enemies—separated from God by our evil thoughts and actions. We were spiritually dead because of our sin, but because of Jesus, God forgives all our sins, every last one of them. He cancels out the record of our sin because it was nailed to the cross with Jesus.
Jesus reconciled us to God through His death. After Jesus died, God raised Him to life again and because of our faith in Jesus, we also are raised to a new life in Him because we trust in the mighty power of God.
As a result, we can stand in his presence confident that we are holy and blameless without a single fault.
So don’t let anyone shame you or condemn you for anything.
Don’t let anyone try and enforce rules or pious self-denial as a means of being holy. These rules may seem wise at first because they require strong devotion but they only make people proud in their own abilities and it’s sinful. Jesus has already made us holy. We don’t have to follow the rules of the world. But we must continue to believe this truth about Jesus and stand firmly in it, being wholly devoted to Jesus.
Jesus has been preached all over the world because God wants everyone to know that the riches and glory of Jesus—salvation—is for everyone.
Jesus is the Head of the Church, which is His body. He holds it all together and causes it to grow. No man can ever stand in this place as its head, only Jesus.
As we give our lives to Jesus, we become part of His Body—the Church.
We all have the urgent job of telling everyone about Jesus.
