What blesses God’s heart?

May 8, 2012

I don’t have the words to express what I feel when my daughter comes running to me with her precious, high-pitched, part giggle, part scream-with-excitement laugh.

She will come running and confidently give me the biggest, tightest, squeeze-hugs and kisses. It doesn’t matter what other things I may be doing or their relative importance. My daughter will hug tighter and push up closer to get my attention…

And then she tells me with the biggest, heart-warming smile,  Mom, I love you!

It does something to me on the inside, I can’t quite explain other than to say, my heart is full. It overflows. I am in love with her and I am evermore thankful to God for her.

Think of how imperfect we are as parents, yet capable of great love and great emotions.

Think then of God. He is our Father. Our very perfect Parent. His love is perfect. His emotions are perfect.

What must it do to God’s heart when we come running to Him, excited to spend time with Him, telling Him,  God, my Father, I love You!…?

It blesses Him. Our worship and our desire to spend time with Him, blesses God’s heart.

We can’t begin to fathom His love and His emotions toward us. They are beyond measure. Beyond our understanding.

I am so thankful He has given us a tiny glimpse of His gargantuan love toward us by giving us our own children.

It helps us understand a little more, that nothing  NOTHING  can ever separate us from His love for us, Romans 8:39.

His love is unending, unfailing and unconditional.

We can run to Him, having great confidence in His love for us.

We can live lives that honor and bless God’s heart…think about that!
