Spit, polish and hype

Anyone can apply some spit, polish something up and create some excitement using hype.

Doesn’t mean people will pay attention for very long. Many will walk away feeling empty, maybe even confused because they are unaware of the disconnect.

If there is not an authentic connection with people, we cannot win them. No matter how much spit, polish or hype is used.

Heart connects to heart. Spirit to spirit. Deep utters to deep. Life, God’s life on the inside of us, flows to others. Same with our faith.

We have authority and our message will resonate with people when there is great integrity and great purity of love behind what we say and do.

Without heart, spirit, deep, life, faith, integrity and love, our message needs a lot of spit ‘n polish and we have to use hype to get people excited. It’s a heck of a lot of striving in our own strength.

I know what I’d rather use. Don’t shortcut God’s process of building heart, spirit, deep, life, faith, integrity and love in you.
