A long journey

July 3, 2012

God doesn’t stop at the point of salvation with us. His plan is that we become whole. Whole in our heart, our thinking, our mind, our emotions, and our body.

Wholeness is a journey.

The Bible has much to say about being whole. Most importantly, wholeness is not something we can strive for, or work at, on our own behalf.

It comes only through God’s Grace, that is Jesus Christ.

The more we grow in our understanding of God’s perfect love and His free gift of grace, the more He transforms us, from the inside out.

Inside out. Not outside in. Religion does the outside really well. Religion looks good from the outside. A person can look great, all shiny and pretty and dressed up, can say all the right things, but they are no more free than the person who doesn’t know Jesus.

In fact, a Christian who travels down that religion road will end up more heart-sick and further from God than ever because religion focuses on what a person needs to do to be better. All the while missing that Jesus has already made us better.

God’s Grace does inside. Heart, thinking, mind, emotions. God will, if we allow Him, transform us from the inside. This is a journey and it’s done by the hand of God in our life.

The goal of the journey is a transformed life. Our lives start to reflect more of Who He is. We grow in our love for God and that is reflected in our love for people and our good life.

The goal of the journey is Jesus.
