In Church, we can spend all our time enforcing rules and a standard for people to live by, so that they comply. And although they may look like changed people, we’ve just taught them a loveless and legalistic way to live out their Christianity.
OR help people understand how much God loves them by continually pointing to Jesus. When people start to realize how much God loves them, they easily love Him right back. And with a genuine and growing love for God, a person’s life starts to line up with what God wants for them. He changes them.
Comply to rules. Strive. Be legalistic. Enforce law. Outwardly look like, we’ve-got-it-going-on = RELIGION.
OR point people to Jesus. They experience His great love. And then, transformational change happens from the inside, by the hand of God Himself = GRACE.
