Decide what is more important, wanting what everyone else has, or doing what God our Father wants us to do…
Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting our own way, wanting everything for ourselves, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates us from Him.
The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity, 1John 2:15-17, Message.
What does God want? For us to love all people the way He loves us. For us to walk obediently to Him. To do justice. Being loyal and compassionate in love. Walking humbly with a heart full of gratitude toward God. And trusting Him with everything.
We ought to live the same life of love that Jesus lived…He loved all and gave His all.
