If we realized how beautiful a miracle praying in tongues is, we would pray more.
Jesus called tongues a miracle that would follow the preaching of the gospel…these signs will accompany those that believe…they will speak in new tongues, Mark 16:16-17.
If we knew what a beautiful miracle this gift is, we would appreciate it, and then find ourselves using it a lot more. Daily. Many times throughout the day. Unceasingly!
It is very possible to have a constant attitude of prayer and thanksgiving to God. In fact we are told to, pray unceasingly…thanking God for everything, 1Thessalonians 5:17. The Apostle Paul said, I speak in tongues more than all of you, 1Corinthians 14:18.
It’s a beautiful thing to pray in our God-given heavenly prayer language, tongues, and to know the Holy Spirit is praying prayers through us directly to God. We can be stuck for words, or not even know what to pray, but if we pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit will pray the exact will of God for the situation we are concerned about, Romans 8:26-27.
Tongues are a private prayer language, anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, 1Corinthians 14:2. And it’s good to know God listens, we can have great faith to know He listens.
Every Christian should eagerly want this gift, 1Corinthians 14:1. Paul said, he wished every one of us had it, 1Corinthians 14:5.
Praying in tongues edifies us, 1Corinthians 14:4. Literally, it instructs us spiritually, morally and even intellectually–we grow smarter. This gift sharpens us, strengthens us, and builds up our spiritual man. Our faith is built up and we remain rooted in God’s love when we pray in the spirit, Jude 1:20-21.
Every day we can pray in tongues and everyday enjoy this beautiful miracle!
