Every man, woman, young and old person has sinned and is in need of God’s saving grace (Romans 3:23, NIV)
Our sin separates us from God. Sin is the wrong things we do, our mistakes and our selfish ways, living our own life-apart from God, but…
God shows His love for us in that Jesus Christ died for us while we were still sinning (Romans 5:8, NIV)
He loves us and is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance (2Peter 3:9, NIV)
His gift of salvation is free to anyone who repents. That simply means to say a heartfelt sorry for living our own way and a recognition that we need Jesus.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9, NIV)
You can simply say this as a prayer:
God, I am sorry for my sins and I ask you to forgive me.
Jesus I believe in you and I ask you to come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior and friend.
Help me to live the way you want me to live. Help me to love you.
Thank you Jesus, Amen.

You should get a bible. There are many translations. My favorite is the NIV. If you are new to reading the bible, start with a Message version, or a New Living Translation. Start reading in John. It’s in the New Testament and you can look in the concordance of your new bible to find it.
